About Us
Zach:
Zach began raising rabbits about 11 years ago with the name Mystic Isle Rabbitry (Mystic's). He started out with his first love, Netherland Dwarfs. He had many other breeds throughout high school, but was well known around the midwest for Netherland Dwarfs, Mini Lops, Holland Lops and eventually Florida Whites. In 2008 for his senior year of high school, Zach received top showmanship honors, Best of Breed and Best Opposite of Breed Florida White, Best of Breed Netherland Dwarf, and Best In Show for the 4H show at the Iowa State Fair with a Mini Lop and had recorded many BIS's that year with different breeds and animals. Now he's back and breeding Netherland Dwarfs, New Zealands, Californians, Florida Whites, Mini Lops and a few American Sables for rabbits. He also raises Teddy/Teddy Satin, and Abby show cavies! :)
Blake:
I started raising rabbits when I was 6 years old. I started out with rabbits more for fun. Growing up on a farm I have always had that love and compassion for animals. Along with our rabbits, my family and I raise... Horses, Sheep, Chickens (Bantam Cochins in Black and White (Frizzle and Smooth), and Modern Game Bantams in Birchen, Black, and Blue), Miniature Horses, and Llamas. I started just as Zach did, I was a breed hoarder :) I started with Californians, Dutch, New Zealands, Lionheads, Holland Lops, Mini Lops, Netherland Dwarfs, Florida Whites, Dwarf Hotots, and Mixed Breed Meat Rabbits. At the time I was not breeding for a hardcore show line... I did it for fun! Now that I have met Zach along the way things have changed, I have found the breed that has a dear place to my heart.. Netherland Dwarfs! What a success I have had in these last few years of breeding and showing, and only more to come!!
*I now am starting to raise Havanas, will have the page done for my Havanas after convention so check back if interested in Havanas!!
*In 2011, Blake and I (Zach) have combined herds to become All-Star Rabbitry (JH's). Our friendship has grown from this and we've had a lot of fun so far. We have the same goal in mind, and that's to establish a strong line of animals. We have a good start with our rabbits and it'll only get better from here. Some of our homebred rabbits have hit the table already with very good success, so it's a start. We urge you to keep checking back as we go along and see how we're doing. If you have any comments or concerns or just want to talk rabbits, email us or find us on facebook! We love getting to know everyone in the "rabbit habit". Thanks! Blake and Zach :)
